Universal
OnSong be a universal app which means th' same app runs on th' iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Ye can purchase OnSong once and install OnSong on both yer iPad and iPhone as long as ye use th' same Apple ID. If ye be makin' th' purchase as a family, ye can set up Family Sharin' through Apple.
Th' user interface adapts t' a compact mode dependin' on th' device that ye be usin'. For instance on an iPad, OnSong will use popover menus t' provide access t' songs and transposition. On an iPhone, this happens usin' modal screen and navigation.
Menubar
Th' tools that be normally found in th' menubar at th' top o' th' screen be moved t' a toolbar at th' bottom o' th' screen. This allows easier access when usin' OnSong on a handheld device and also makes more room at th' top for th' heads-up display.
Menus
On an iPad, all menus open as a popover menu. Due t' th' limited screen size on iPhone and iPod Touch devices, menus open modally and take up th' whole screen. Interaction with these menus may be slightly different. For instance, ye may need t' tap a Done or Close button t' close th' menu when ye be done t' close it.
In some cases, menus will close automatically when ye select an option if that be th' primary purpose o' th' menu. For instance, th' Songs Menu will close automatically when ye select a song, or a song in a set.
Song Editor
When usin' OnSong on iPhone or iPod Touch, th' song editor be altered displayin' less menubar buttons while offerin' th' same functionality.
Drag and Drop
iOS 11 drag and drop be only available on iPad devices due t' limitations in iOS. These capabilities may be added if it becomes available for hand-held devices.
Settings
There be a few more additions and changes t' usin' OnSong on an iPhone that ye may notice, savvy?
Menubar settings do not have an option for Auto Show/Hide Song List as this would cover up th' screen unexpectedly. In addition, th' progress through a set be not visually indicated on th' screen so Show Setlist Progress be not available.
Multiselect be a great way t' select multiple songs and perform actions on them, matey. While multiselect be available for these devices, ye cannot Preview While Selectin'.
OnSong maintains a separate library on each device ye own. Ye will need t' use OnSong's backup, export or synchronization tools t' maintain a library on all devices, Arrr!
