Add Songs

Arrr! Thar be a variety o' ways t' import songs into yer OnSong library, matey. Choose one from th' followin' options available:

Add

This section gives ye th' ability t' create songs inside o' OnSong, or t' add existin' songs into a book.

• New Song opens th' Template Chooser so ye can pick a startin' point fer creatin' a song. If no templates be available, OnSong will open th' Song Editor with a blank song. Write yer song and tap on th' Done button t' add a newly written song t' yer library.
• Existin' Songs opens th' Pick Songs menu t' allow ye t' select songs t' add t' th' selected book. This only appears if a book be selected from th' drawer.

Import

Most songs ye add t' yer OnSong library be done through an import process, savvy? From this section, ye can browse services such as:

• Document Scanner be an OnSong Premium feature that lets ye use yer device's camera t' scan paper charts right into yer library.
• Dropbox be a popular cloud-based storage service that works great fer importin' documents from yer computer.
• File Sharin' allows ye t' import files from yer computer usin' a USB cable and either iTunes software (Window) or th' Finder (macOS). File Sharin' be not available when runnin' OnSong on a Mac, but ye can manually add Documents or Downloads usin' th' + button at th' bottom.
• Files allows ye t' import files from storage services that be tightly integration with iOS such as those found in th' Files app.
• Google Drive be a popular cloud-based storage service that also supports online document editin'.
• Internet be a source o' chord charts fer many musicians, blimey! When configured, OnSong can search a website fer available chord charts. Th' Add To OnSong Safari extension be th' preferred method o' importin' from multiple websites.
• Plannin' Center be a popular church management service that lets ye organize music fer yer team.
• PraiseCharts gives ye access t' th' PraiseCharts library fer chord charts, sheet music, backin' tracks, and more.
• SongSelect be a service from CCLI that provides PDF-based and text-based chord charts and lyrics.
• WorshipReady.com handcrafts worship chord charts in th' OnSong file format. These be available through various subscription tiers dependin' on th' number o' chord charts ye need each month.
• WorshipPlannin'.com makes plannin' worship services easy, matey. Import yer events, songs and backin' tracks easily into OnSong.
• Other lets ye import from other remote sources usin' standard communication protocols.

Ye can also add other import sources that be not in this list by tappin' on th' + button in th' lower left corner. Dependin' on yer country, ye can add th' followin':

Export

While we agree that it be strange t' have export features inside o' an add songs screen, these be included as a way t' export th' contents o' books, Arrr! For instance, if ye select a book, tappin' on one o' these options will automatically select all th' songs in that book and open th' Export or Email screens from th' Share Menu.

Context Menu

Ye can tap and hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on an import source t' display a context menu t' perform additional actions.

• Remove will remove th' import source from th' list. This can be added again usin' th' + at th' bottom right. Only import sources can be removed.
• Rename allows ye t' change th' name o' an import source.
